Job summary

Workday in Ireland is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Engineer to join a team focused on stable, scalable database infrastructure for our Rails-based product. You will optimize, shard, and grow our PostgreSQL deployment in line with rapid product growth.

You will work with AWS/RDS, monitor performance, tune configurations, and partner with DevOps to predict capacity and provision resources. We value self-sufficiency, collaboration and teaching others.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with PostgreSQL, planning and provisioning database instances.
• Experience with cross-region/datacenter databases.
• Experience tuning and configuring PostgreSQL, ideally in AWS.
• Familiar with monitoring tools and connection management.
• Ability to predict capacity and work with DevOps to provision it.
• Interest in teaching others and teamwork.

Responsibilities
