Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited is seeking a Database Engineer II for the RDS for Oracle team. You will design and implement scalable database automation, contribute to Oracle Database architecture, and support enterprise-scale deployments across AWS.

You will own end-to-end features, guide engineers on internals, and participate in on-call incidents and customer support. This role requires strong PL/SQL and Java tooling experience, and a passion for reliable, secure databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and five years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Experience designing and developing robust and scalable database automation solutions.
• Advising software engineers on database internals and tooling.
• Experience with database benchmarking and automation around it.
• Proficiency with code database management tooling in PL/SQL and Java.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable database automation solutions and advise engineers on database internals.
• Perform database benchmarking with supporting automation.
• Own database architecture and drive best practices and standards.
• Mentor engineers and resolve complex problems affecting database systems.
• Handle on-call duties, incident response, troubleshooting, and customer support.
