Job summary

Pontoon is hiring an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer in Dublin, with a hybrid work setup (3 days in office). The contract runs for 12 months at 550 EUR per day via Umbrella/LTD.

You will design, build, automate, and support enterprise‑scale cloud platforms used across critical services. You will collaborate with Engineering, Security, SRE, and Operations to deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions, implementing DevSecOps, and advancing automation and observability.

Qualifications

• Years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Hands-on AWS experience designing and supporting enterprise cloud environments.
• Experience with regulated environments and enterprise security governance.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, KMS, encryption, and Zero Trust principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud platforms.
• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform IaC.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, SRE and Operations teams to deliver cloud‑native solutions.
• Lead automation initiatives to improve platform stability and cost efficiency.
• Champion DevSecOps by embedding security controls throughout the platform lifecycle.
• Design and support AWS networking including VPCs, DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Routing and Proxies.
• Support container workloads with Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Contribute to observability strategies using Grafana, Prometheus and AWS-native tools.
• Ensure cloud security controls, IAM policies, encryption, and governance.
