Job summary

NeoDyne in Cork is seeking an Automation Project Manager to lead and deliver advanced automation projects across energy, life sciences, and F&B sectors. You will guide hardware/software/controls design, work with customers to identify optimization opportunities, and mentor junior engineers, all from our Cork office.

The role requires a strong background in PLC/HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, and industrial networks, with a customer-focused, results-driven approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/CS/IS or related field.
  • 5+ years automation engineering experience.
  • PLC programming with Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Schneider.
  • HMI/SCADA experience: Siemens/Rockwell/AVEVA/Schneider.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver projects at customer sites with a team of automation engineers.
  • Design and approve hardware, software, and controls for automated systems.
  • Collaborate with customers to identify improvement opportunities via automation and data analytics.
  • Provide technical and automation support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation, and Facilities teams.
  • Mentor graduate/junior engineers and develop design docs and test plans.
  • Design/configure industrial control interfaces (HMI/SCADA) and control panels.

Automation Project Manager (Cork)

NeoDyne are recruiting a Automation Project Manager to join our growing Integration & Digital Manufacturing team. Our Engineers work on leading-edge automation projects, predominantly in the Energy, Life Science and Food & Beverage sectors. A background in GAMP 5 and experience with Siemens, Rockwell and AVEVA (Wonderware) products would be a distinct advantage.

This role is offered as a full-time staff position, based out of our Cork office, with an excellent Salary and Benefits package. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver projects to customer sites with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers
  • Provide design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systems.
  • Work closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
  • Provide technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.
  • Mentor and train graduate/junior engineers.
  • Develop engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans
  • Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Produce I/O schedules
  • Prepare Functional Design specifications
  • Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA)
  • Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematics
  • Commissioning of control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systems
  • Fault finding of control systems (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Communication Networks etc.)
Experience & Skills
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
  • 5 or more years' automation engineering experience.
  • PLC Programming Experience: Siemens/ Allen-Bradley/ Schneider.
  • HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / Schneider.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
Desired
  • Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Full Irish Driving Licence
