Job summary

NeoDyne is recruiting an Automation Project Manager to join our Integration & Digital Manufacturing team in Cork. You will lead automation projects, design hardware, software and control strategies, and mentor engineers on site at customer facilities.

You will work across Life Sciences, Food & Beverage and Energy sectors, with a strong focus on Siemens, Rockwell and AVEVA platforms, validated systems, and data analytics to drive efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
  • 5 or more years’ automation engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
  • Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Full Irish Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver projects to customer sites with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers
  • Provide design and approval for hardware, software, and controls for automated systems.
  • Work closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
  • Provide technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.
  • Mentor and train graduate/junior engineers.
  • Develop engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans
  • Design and coding of industrial process automation solutions on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Prepare Functional Design specifications
  • Design and configuration of user interface systems for industrial control (HMI/SCADA)
  • Design of control panels and creation of panel wiring schematics
  • Commissioning of control systems in the field: I/O and instrumentation testing, full testing and commissioning of automation systems
  • Fault finding of control systems (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Communication Networks etc.)

A background in GAMP 5 and experience with Siemens, Rockwell and AVEVA (Wonderware) products would be a distinct advantage.

Key responsibilities
