Job summary
Morgan McKinley is seeking an Automation Manager for a large-scale, highly automated medical device manufacturing environment in Ireland. You will own automation engineering activities across the site, drive reliability, and lead critical improvement initiatives to support 24/7 production.
Responsibilities include leading projects from concept to commissioning, providing technical direction, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet manufacturing objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Software/Manufacturing engineering or related technical discipline.
- Significant experience in automation engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC programming and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Lead site-wide automation engineering projects from concept through procurement, implementation, commissioning and acceptance.
- Own the automation strategy to improve performance, reliability, productivity and efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and develop engineering technicians and staff.
- Oversee troubleshooting of complex automation and equipment software issues with root-cause analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma and structured project management.
- Manage relationships with external automation suppliers and partners to ensure project delivery meets requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Validation, Development and Quality teams to support objectives.
