Provide hands-on automation and controls support for automated manufacturing lines.
Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, motion, vision and machine-control issues to minimise downtime and restore production quickly.
Investigate equipment faults and downtime, using structured root-cause analysis to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
Implement corrective actions and control-system improvements to enhance equipment reliability, performance and uptime.
Support the installation, commissioning, debugging and start-up of new and modified automation equipment.
Provide controls support during production ramp-up, hypercare and equipment optimisation.
Diagnose issues across PLC software, electrical systems, sensors, actuators, networks and machine interfaces.
Support integration and troubleshooting of automation components, including PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems and motion control.
Contribute to automation standardisation, equipment improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support validation, verification, Change Control and other activities within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Maintain accurate controls documentation, software backups, schematics and technical procedures.
Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality teams to deliver reliable and robust automation solutions.
Demonstrable experience in Automation, Controls or Electrical Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled automated equipment.
Experience supporting high-volume or highly automated production lines.
Ability to diagnose problems across controls, electrical, mechanical and software systems.
Experience with commissioning, equipment start-up, debugging and production support.
Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally medical device, pharmaceutical or similar.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Allen-Bradley / Rockwell PLC experience is essential.
Strong experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting and control-system diagnostics.
Experience with HMI/SCADA systems, ideally Ignition.
Experience with industrial networks, I/O, sensors, actuators and machine interfaces.
Experience with Cognex or Keyence vision systems is preferred.
Exposure to Beckhoff, Epson robots and motion control is desirable.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC code and machine documentation.
Experience with commissioning, testing, software debugging and equipment support.
Knowledge of structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline.
