Job summary

Ipsen Dublin is seeking an Automation (Control Systems) Engineer to join the Operational Technology team. The role focuses on day‑to‑day automation support for API manufacturing with PLC/SCADA/DCS expertise and a drive for continuous improvement.

You will plan and deliver control system upgrades, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with GMP and EHS policies. The position requires strong communication and project leadership within a collaborative biopharma setting.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Automation & Controls, Electrical Engineering or related life science field.
Experience in manufacturing/biopharma process automation and GMP environments.
Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA/DCS systems, HMI, Batch, and BMS.
Familiarity with GAMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11 is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day automation support for API manufacturing facilities.
Plan and execute control systems upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for automation systems.
Ensure system compliance, safety, and data integrity per GMP requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Operations, Maintenance, Quality and Validation.
