Job summary

AIR Sligo seeks a driven Automation Equipment Engineer to lead commissioning activities and coordinate with assembly, electrical, software and engineering design teams. You will transform ambiguity into actionable tasks and manage snag lists through to closure.

The role reports to the Automation Equipment Engineer Lead and involves travel to customer sites as required, with a focus on delivering reliable automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in automation or machine building.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and/or software systems in automated machinery.
• Excellent analytical and problem-structuring skills with a track record of turning issues into defined actions.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of machines during late assembly and post power-up phases.
• Act as the primary interface between cross-functional teams to centralise communication.
• Maintain issues lists, interface with customers, and support project managers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Systematically convert unresolved issues into clearly defined, actionable tasks.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities during commissioning to meet milestones.
