Job summary

AIR Sligo seeks an Automation Equipment Engineer to join our team in late-stage machine delivery. You will own commissioning activities and act as the central technical interface across internal teams, ensuring robust handover to customers.

You will convert ambiguity into defined tasks, maintain issue lists, and drive resolution with project teams. Travel domestically and internationally may be required as part of project support.

Qualifications

• Degree-level engineering qualification.
• 3–5 years in automation or machine-building environment.
• Strong mechanical/electrical/software understanding in automated machinery.
• Excellent analytical and problem-structuring skills.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of machines during late assembly and post power-up to ensure functional delivery.
• Serve as primary interface between assembly, electrical, software, and engineering/design teams to centralise communication.
• Interface with customer post power-up, maintain issues lists, and support project manager with customer communications and on-time delivery.
• Systematically convert unresolved issues into clearly defined, actionable tasks with owners and paths to resolution.
• Identify, register, and manage outstanding items, snag lists and technical issues through to closure.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities during commissioning to meet project milestones.
