Job summary

Gheel Autism Services CLG invites applications for a Care Assistant / Support Worker on a 0.70 WTE basis to join Ballycurraghan Team, Co. Kildare.

This is a day roster role covering Monday to Sunday, with associated premium payments and a salary band aligned to sector agreements. The successful candidate will support individuals with autism, promote independence, and help develop education and employment opportunities while adhering to HIQA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Essential qualification as listed: FETAC Major Level 5 in Social Care or equivalently Health/Social Science.
• Full Garda Vetting required prior to commencing employment.
• Must have a full, clean manual driving licence.
• Understanding of HIQA guidelines and standards or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support service users with autism and their daily routines.
• Promote independence and assist with education and employment planning.
• Develop and implement resources to support communication and thinking.
• Maintain and review each person’s support plan and working file.
• Collaborate with Practitioners and contribute to community-based activities.
