Job summary

Gheel Autism Services CLG is seeking Relief Care Assistants for flexible day and residential shifts across North Kildare. You will support people with intellectual disabilities and autism, with person-centered approaches and rights-based practice, across multiplelocations.

We offer full training on autism, safety, medication administration, and more; shifts include 8 or 12 hours, with allowances for sleepovers, unsocial hours, Saturdays and Sundays. Salary €17.02 per hour.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria: genuine interest in supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism.
• Desirable criteria: experience in disability or autism support (voluntary or paid).
• Desirable criteria: familiarity with HIQA standards and New Directions.
• Desirable criteria: Full Clean Manual Driving License is required for multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or autism in daily living and community activities.
• Work across at least 3 locations within the organisation.
• Participate in training on autism, low arousal approaches, fire safety, manual handling, medication administration and safeguarding.

• You will receive full training in areas such as autism, our low arousal approach, fire safety, manual handling, medication administration, safeguarding, and more.

• You will gain a broad range of experience as you will get to work across at least 3 locations in an organisation that is forward-thinking and passionate about delivering quality supports.

• Our Day shifts are either 8 Hours or 12 Hours depending on the location.

• Our Overnight shifts run from 9/10 am to 9/10 am the next morning which you will receive a competitive hourly rate as well as a sleepover allowance, unsocial hours allowance, Saturday allowance, and Sunday allowance
