Job summary

Autism A Chara in Ashford, Co. Wicklow is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide person-centred support to adults with complex needs. The role covers 39 hours per week with shifts including evenings and weekends, and requires QQI Level 5 Health Care qualification.

You will work on a rota, drive service vehicles if licensed, and contribute to planning and implementing individual support plans. The organization is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Full QQI Level 5 Health Care qualification is essential.
• Awareness of Key Worker/Support Worker role and philosophy for people with complex needs.
• Programme planning and person-centred plans execution.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and routines.
• Support individuals to engage in their community.
• Learn about the person’s needs and preferences and adapt communication accordingly.
• Help individuals understand their rights and support decision-making.
• Provide support on a rota basis including evenings, weekends and waking night shifts.
