Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an Audit & Accounts Senior for a well-established accountancy practice in Co. Louth (Dundalk).

You will lead external audit engagements, manage fieldwork from planning to sign-off, and prepare statutory accounts under FRS102/102A for non-audit clients. You will oversee a portfolio of regional clients, act as the main contact for business owners and directors, and supervise ACA/ACCA trainees, while driving improvements in internal controls and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with valid permission to work in Ireland.
  • 2–3+ years’ practice experience in Irish audit and accounts with direct client contact.
  • Advanced knowledge of Irish GAAP (FRS102/102A), ISAs (Ireland) and Companies Act requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver external audit engagements.
  • Manage audit fieldwork from planning to final sign-off and oversee statutory accounts preparation and file review under FRS102/102A for non-audit clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of regional clients and act as the main contact for local business owners, financial controllers and directors in Dundalk and Co. Louth.

WhatSkillsYouNeed
  • Fullyqualifiedaccountant(ACA,ACCA,CPAorequivalent)withvalidpermissiontoworkinIreland.

  • Proficientinauditandaccountssoftware(e.g.,CaseWare,Relate,BrightPay,SurfAccounts,Xero)andMicrosoftExcel.
  • Excellentcommunication,timemanagement,andmentoringskills,withaclient-focusedapproachandlocalbusinessinsight.
