Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an Audit & Accounts Senior for a well-established Westmeath practice serving SMEs and family businesses from Athlone. Hybrid working options are available.

Lead external audits, manage fieldwork from planning to sign-off, prepare statutory accounts under FRS102/102A, and mentor ACA/ACCA trainees. You will maintain client relationships with local owners and directors, support tax compliance, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with valid work permission in Ireland.
• 2–3+ years’ practice experience in Irish audit and accounts with client-facing engagement.
• Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP (FRS102/102A), ISAs (Ireland) and Companies Act requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver external audit engagements from planning to sign-off.
• Manage audit fieldwork, statutory accounts prep and file review under FR S102/102A.
• Maintain a portfolio of regional clients and be a main contact for local owners/directors.
• Support tax compliance including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT and PAYE/PRSI.
• Supervise junior team members and ACA/ACCA trainees, providing guidance and training.
• Identify and report on internal control improvements and practical SME guidance.
