Job summary

Valaston, a specialist audit and assurance firm, is seeking an Audit Manager to lead delivery of high-quality engagements for investment funds and SPVs. You will report to Audit Partner, oversee planning through completion, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with international colleagues.

You'll work with global clients across funds, SPVs and financial institutions, ensuring budget adherence and strong client service.

Qualifications

About the role

As Audit Manager, you will play a key role in managing the delivery of high-quality audit engagements for investment funds and SPVs. Reporting to the Audit Partner and senior audit leadership, you will oversee audit files from planning through to completion, support the development of junior team members, and contribute to the continued strengthening of Valaston’s audit methodology and client service standards.

Your key duties will include:

• Leading audit engagements, including planning, analysis of controls and processes, preparation and review of audit documentation, letters and reports
• Project managing assigned audit engagements throughout the process ensuring client deliverables are met
• Actively working alongside international audit colleagues based in Cayman Islands, Singapore and Netherlands to ensure consistent service delivery across offices
• Managing client billing and ensuring adherence to budget timelines
• Supervising, training and mentoring junior staff, assisting with their professional development and creating career advancement opportunities
• Due to our expanding global client base, opportunities for international travel may also be available

Key Skills and Competencies

• Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
• Strong technical audit knowledge and experience in a public accounting or professional services environment
• Relevant work experience in financial services; specialised in the audit of financial institutions like banks, insurers, pension funds, asset managers
• Proven experience managing statutory audit engagements from planning through to completion
• Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
• Strong communication and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with clients, colleagues and senior stakeholders
• Confident leadership skills, with experience coaching, developing and supporting junior team members
