Job summary

Primis is seeking an AV technician to build, test and pack AV kit ahead of live events, with emphasis on video and lighting equipment. You will set up and operate video systems including LED screens, projection and vision switching, and rig and run lighting equipment.

You will assist with load-ins/outs, diagnose faults on-site, keep stock organized, and liaise with production teams to deliver events to spec while acting as a professional on-site contact for clients and venues.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on AV technician experience.
  • Good knowledge of video equipment (LED screens, projection, vision switching).
  • Good knowledge of lighting equipment (moving lights, control desks, basic rigging).
  • Full clean driving licence; C1/trailer licence advantageous.
  • Able to work in a busy warehouse and fast-paced live event setting.
  • Physically capable of lifting gear; available for evening/weekend work.
  • Reliable team player with strong communication and a positive attitude.

  • Keep stock organised and equipment properly maintained for the next job.
  • Liaise with the production and technical team to ensure events are delivered to spec.
  • Act as a professional on-site contact for clients and venues.

Job description

Day Rate: €280 - €350 per day *Dependant on experience*

The Role:

  • Build, test and pack down AV kit ahead of live events, with particular emphasis on video and lighting equipment
  • Set up and operate video systems such as LED screens, projection and vision mixing/switching
  • Rig and run lighting equipment, including moving lights, dimmers and lighting control desks
  • Assist with load-ins and load-outs on event days, working as part of a wider technical crew
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults both during equipment prep and while on-site, flagging bigger issues to senior technical staff
  • Keep stock organised and equipment properly maintained so it's always ready to go out on the next job
  • Liaise with the production and technical team to make sure each event is delivered to spec
  • Act as a professional point of contact for clients and venues while on-site

Skills Needed:

  • Proven hands‑on background working as an AV technician
  • Good working knowledge of video equipment (LED screens, projection, vision switching)
  • Good working knowledge of lighting equipment (moving lights, control desks, basic rigging)
