Job description

Our client is an established international cost and project management consultancy, delivering client-side advisory services across a broad range of sectors. With a strong presence in Ireland and a wider international network, they support public and private sector clients on significant developments from inception through to completion.

The business is respected for its independent advice, technical rigour and long-standing client relationships. Clients rely on its teams to protect their commercial interests and bring clarity and control to complex, high-value programmes.

Their work in the data centre sector has grown considerably, with a substantial hyperscale portfolio now being delivered across Europe for major international developers. They are appointing an Associate Director to provide technical and team leadership on this portfolio and help drive its continued success.

You will lead a team of circa 10 quantity surveyors and cost managers working across a portfolio of hyperscale data centre projects. The culture is collaborative and professional, with a strong emphasis on technical quality, consistent delivery and developing people.

Working on the client side, you will be closely involved in every stage of the cost management process, from early cost planning and procurement strategy through tender evaluation, post-contract cost management and final accounts. Hyperscale projects bring scale, pace and repeatability, giving you the chance to shape standards and approaches that are applied across the whole portfolio.

Direct engagement with major international developers is central to the role. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, providing clear commercial insight and confident reporting on some of the highest-value projects in the European market.

This is an opportunity for a senior QS to step into a defined leadership position with real responsibility, while working within an established consultancy that offers the structure, support and progression routes to grow further.

Responsibilities
  • Act as technical and team lead on a hyperscale data centre portfolio across Europe
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of circa 10 quantity surveyors and cost managers
  • Oversee cost planning, procurement strategy, tender evaluation and contract award across multiple projects
  • Direct post-contract cost management, including valuations, change control, cost reporting and final accounts
  • Act as a senior point of contact for major international developer clients
  • Establish and maintain consistent cost management standards, benchmarking and reporting across the portfolio
  • Identify and manage commercial risk, ensuring clients’ interests are protected throughout delivery
  • Support business development and the growth of key client relationships
What You Need
  • Significant quantity surveying experience within a client-side consultancy environment
  • Data centre or mission-critical experience highly desirable, ideally at hyperscale
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams of quantity surveyors and cost managers
  • Strong pre- and post-contract cost management expertise on large, complex projects
  • Confident client-facing skills and the credibility to advise senior international stakeholders
  • Understanding of contract forms commonly used in Ireland and Europe, such as NEC and FIDIC
  • MSCSI or MRICS chartered membership preferred
What You’ll Get in Return

This position offers a base salary of €120,000 plus a comprehensive package. More importantly, it provides a long-term platform within an established international consultancy, with a defined leadership role on high-value hyperscale work, direct exposure to major international developers and clear pathways for progression to Director level.
