Job summary

Barden | B Corp is seeking an Associate Director of Finance to act as the No. 2 to the Senior Director of Finance. You will lead a high-performing finance team, partner with operations and corporate functions, and provide judgements to support strategic business decisions.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will oversee period-end close, safeguard financial controls, and drive improvements across the reporting cycle while maintaining strong governance with external stakeholders.

• Big 4 trained or equivalent professional background
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and controls experience
• Proven ability to partner with Operations and senior business leaders
• Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in global organisations and reporting environments

Responsibilities

• Act as accounting and reporting leader for the business unit, overseeing period-end close and performance reviews
• Partner with Operations, Tax, FP&A, Treasury, and other teams to drive decision making and improvements
• Apply deep technical knowledge to complex accounting areas requiring judgement
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks with strong controls
• Lead process improvements across close and reporting cycles
• Strengthen governance and external stakeholder relationships

Barden are delighted to be partnering with our highly valued client, a global organisation, in their search for an Associate Director of Finance.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, you will act as their No. 2, being a hands on and strategic partner for a key business unit within the group. As part of your role, you will work with operations and corporate teams, providing judgement to support business decisions. You will lead a best in class finance team, demonstrating excellent leadership capabilities to enable a strong reporting environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Act as the accounting and reporting leader for the business unit, overseeing period-end close activities and reviewing financial performance.
• Partner with Operations, Tax, FP&A, Treasury, and other teams, supporting decision-making and driving operational improvements.
• Apply deep technical knowledge to complex areas of the business where interpretation and judgement are required.
• Identify and assess areas of financial and operational risk, reviewing mitigating controls.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across the close and reporting cycle.
• Strengthen financial controls and governance across the business unit.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders.

ABOUT THE PERSON

• Big 4 trained, ACA or equivalent, with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar.
• Extensive accounting experience in a global organisation.
• Strong technical knowledge and control experience, ideally in a SOX environment.
• A confident, organised leader who partners well across Finance and the business.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to build lasting relationships.
