Job summary

Barden | B Corp is exclusively partnering with a large construction group to appoint a Group Finance Director. This is the top finance role, sitting in the Senior Leadership Team and advising on strategy, financial control and broad business direction.

You will own the finance function, lead a small but capable team across domestic and international entities, and provide robust reporting, governance and commercial insight to support continued growth and expansion.

Qualifications

• 20 years' progressive finance experience and senior leadership exposure.
• Proven track record as Group Finance Director / CFO.
• Experience on Senior Leadership Team with gravitas to advise shareholders.
• Hands-on yet strategic leadership across finance teams.
• Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• Commercial mindset with discretion in an owner-led business.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to shareholders on strategy, business planning and long-term direction.
• Take full ownership of the Group finance function, leading and developing a tight-knit team.
• Deliver accurate, timely monthly and annual financial and management reporting across all entities, domestic and international.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
• Maintain robust financial controls, governance, and compliance across the Group.
• Oversee cashflow, working capital, and treasury management across multiple jurisdictions.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other external advisors.
• Provide commercial insight and financial analysis to support key business and investment decisions.
• Oversee tax and statutory compliance across all operating jurisdictions.
• Support Owners and Senior Leadership Team on M&A, expansion, and other strategic initiatives.
• Ensure the business is well positioned financially and governanced to support growth trajectory.

This is the number one finance role in the business. You will sit at the heart of the Senior Leadership Team, acting as a trusted advisor on strategy, financial control, and the overall direction of the business. You will take full ownership of the finance function, leading a tight-knit team while playing a critical role in setting the business up for continued success both domestically and internationally.

This is a broad, high-trust role that has both strategic influence with hands-on financial leadership. You will work closely with the Shareholders and Board of Directors on long-term planning and key decision-making, while ensuring the finance function delivers robust reporting, control, and commercial insight to support the business as it continues to grow.

• Hands on, pragmatic leader who is equally comfortable operating at strategic and operational levels.
• Strong leadership capability, with a track record of building and developing high-performing, close-knit teams.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially minded, with sound judgement and the ability to operate with discretion in an owner-led business.
