Job summary

This opportunity is with a partner company operating in Ireland, seeking an Associate Director, Project Management to lead the Project Management function in an international clinical research setting. You will drive strategic delivery, optimize resources, and mentor PMs to strengthen delivery capabilities while upholding quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to clinical project management or clinical research; PMP certification is an asset.
• At least 7 years combined experience in clinical research and project management within biotech/pharma/CRO.
• Demonstrated leadership and direct people-management experience in CRO or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial delivery, project portfolio management, resource planning, and operational performance management.
• Knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements (including Health Canada and FDA).
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate project management teams and support career progression.
• Strong strategic thinking, judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the Project Management function aligned with organizational strategy.
• Lead PMs at PM I/II and Senior PM levels; oversee recruitment, onboarding, training and performance evaluations.
• Plan workforce and resource allocation; identify gaps and mitigate risks.
• Ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery across the portfolio with sponsors.
• Monitor KPIs, drive process improvements and standardization of delivery.
• Mentor PMs in risk management, stakeholder engagement, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to promote scalable delivery and knowledge sharing.
• Oversee use of CTMS and technology platforms to support project delivery.
• Ensure SOPs, GCP, ICH compliance and audit readiness.
• Travel up to 10% and work authorization in the EU.
