Job summary

O'Hehirs bakery and Cafe in Galway city is hiring a Full-Time Assistant Manager for ATU Galway WellPark Road. The role is term-time friendly with weekly rota planning, cash handling, and customer service excellence.

You will lead a small team, ensure smooth service, and coordinate orders with head office while maintaining a welcoming shop floor during busy periods.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar Assistant Manager role.
• Confident handling cash and operating a till.
• Experience in hospitality settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

WE ARE HIRING A FULL TIME ASSISTANT MANAGER FOR OUR CAFE IN ATU GALWAY, WELLPARK ROAD!

Reporting to the Area Manager, you'll help create a friendly atmosphere where students and staff feel welcomed. Working as part of a small close-knit team, you'll provide excellent service while preparing and serving our fresh food with care and enthusiasm.

The Role:

Full Time: Min 35 hours p.w

Working hours: 30-40 hours p.w - This role can be term time only, with weekends, bank holidays & college closed times off if preferred

Shift times: 7.30am- 4pm, this may vary slightly

Key Responsibilities:

• · Scheduling weekly rota for a team of 3
• · Building rapport with ATU senior team & seek out opportunities to increase hospitality support for the ATU
• · Submitting weekly orders to head office kitchen team
• · Operating the till and complete end-of-day cashing-up procedures
• · Serving hot food dishes with a focus on quality, presentation, and excellent customer service
• · Keeping your work area clean, organised, and welcoming throughout the day
• · Working as part of a small team, supporting colleagues in wash-up area during busy periods when required
• · Help welcome and train new team members, sharing your knowledge and supporting them as they settle into their role.

What we’re looking for:

• · Previous experience working as an Assistant Manager, with 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• · Confidence handling cash and operating a till accurately.
