Job summary

LIMERICK RACECOURSE in Ireland is seeking a Full-time Grounds Maintenance role to assist with track preparation, maintenance, and repair to meet safety and presentation standards for race days. You will support watering, mowing, harrowing, and rolling, and help maintain facilities and car parks.

Responsibilities include setting up fencing, assisting during races, operating mowers and tractors, and reporting safety issues. English required; on-site work in Patrickswell, County Limerick.

Qualifications

• Gardening / Landscape: 1 year (preferred)
• Groundskeeping: 2 years (preferred)
• English language proficiency required

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair race track surface, fences, and railings.
• Water, mow, harrow, fertilise, and roll track as required.
• Maintain lawns, pathways, car parks and outdoor facilities.
• Set up and dismantle race day fencing and temporary structures.
• Assist with track preparation before, during, and after races.
• Operate ground care machinery and report faults promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and wear PPE when required.

Job description

Purpose of the Role

To assist in the preparation, maintenance, and repair of the racecourse grounds to ensure the safety and presentation standards required for race days to Industry Regulation and other events,

Key Responsibilities

Track Maintenance

Prepare, repair, and maintain the race track surface, fences, and

Railings. Assist with watering, mowing, harrowing, fertilising, and rolling the track as required.

Grounds and Facility Upkeep

Maintain lawns, pathways, car parks, other outdoor facilities.

Ensure the general cleanliness and tidiness of all racecourse areas.

Set up and dismantle race day fencing, and temporary structures.

Race Day Duties

Assist with preparation of the track before, during, and after races.

Respond promptly to instructions from the Clerk of the Course or track manager

Deal with minor repairs and ensure surfaces remain safe and presentable throughout the

event

Equipment & Machinery

Operate and carry out basic maintenance of ground care machinery such as mowers,

Tractor, water hoses, bowsers, strimmer’s, and rollers.

Report any faults or safety issues promptly.

Health & Safety

Comply with all health and safety procedures.

Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) where / when required.

Be vigilant in identifying and reporting hazards or defects.

Consult the Safety Statement and associated policies and procedures.

Teamwork

Work collaboratively with other ground staff, maintenance teams, and event operations.

Take part in training or toolbox talks as directed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: €15.00-€15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
