Job summary

HR Search is seeking an experienced Assistant HR Manager to join a values-led organisation in the healthcare and social care sector. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will provide professional HR support to managers and staff across a multi-faceted operational environment.

You will contribute to employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, HR operations, compliance and workforce planning, driving best-practice HR processes and supporting growth.

Qualifications

  • Third-level qualification in Human Resource Management, Business Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years' HR experience within a generalist HR environment.
  • Strong experience across employee relations.
  • Experience advising managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR qualification.
  • Experience within healthcare, social care, disability services or the not-for-profit sector.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations.
  • Experience using HR systems and workforce reporting platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support to managers and employees across the organisation across employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, HR operations and compliance.
  • Help drive best-practice HR processes and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment campaigns including onboarding and pre-employment checks.
  • Support learning and development initiatives and mandatory training compliance.
  • Assist with HR reporting, audits, inspections and GDPR/compliance requirements.
  • Analyse workforce trends and partner with managers on retention and workforce planning.

Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the healthcare and social care sector, is seeking an experienced Assistant HR Manager to join its HR function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a values-led organisation and play a key role in supporting its people strategy across a multi-faceted operational environment.

Reporting to the Head of HR, the Assistant HR Manager will provide professional and practical HR support to managers and employees across the organisation. The role will have broad exposure across employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, HR operations, compliance, workforce planning and employee engagement.

The successful candidate will help drive best-practice HR processes while contributing to a positive workplace culture and supporting the organisation's continued growth and development.

The Role
Employee Relations
  • Provide HR advice and guidance to managers on a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance issues.
  • Ensure advice is aligned with organisational policies and procedures and Irish employment legislation.
  • Support managers in resolving workplace issues fairly, consistently and effectively.
  • Promote positive employee relations, engagement, inclusion and a respectful workplace culture.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment and selection process.
  • Coordinate recruitment campaigns, interviews, onboarding and pre-employment checks.
  • Develop and maintain effective candidate pipelines to support workforce requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with managers to understand recruitment needs and deliver effective hiring solutions.
  • Support initiatives designed to strengthen the organisation's position as an employer of choice within the healthcare and social care sectors.
Learning & Development
  • Support the delivery of learning and development initiatives.
  • Work with managers to identify training and development requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring mandatory training compliance.
  • Support professional development, talent management and succession planning initiatives.
HR Operations & Compliance
  • Support the consistent implementation of HR policies and procedures across the organisation.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating HR policies in line with legislative and organisational developments.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Support HR reporting, analysis, audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure employee information is managed appropriately in accordance with GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
Workforce Planning & Retention
  • Support initiatives focused on employee engagement, wellbeing and retention.
  • Assist with analysing workforce trends and HR metrics.
  • Work closely with managers to identify and address workforce challenges.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving employee retention and the overall employee experience.
Strategic & General HR
  • Assist the Head of HR with strategic HR projects and organisational change initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and key stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Represent the HR function at relevant meetings and working groups.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and practices.
  • Support the organisation's values and commitment to delivering high-quality services.
About You

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who is confident operating in a generalist HR environment and has strong employee relations experience.

You will be comfortable advising managers, handling sensitive and complex employee matters, and balancing operational priorities with best-practice HR.

  • Third-level qualification in Human Resource Management, Business Management or a related discipline.
