Job summary

Hillgrove Hotel & Spa in Monaghan is seeking an experienced Assistant Bar Manager to support our bar operations and deliver exceptional service across the hotel. You will lead by example, supervise the bar team and work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure high standards across daily service, weddings and events.

You will develop and coach your team, manage staffing and stock, and ensure licensing, HACCP and health and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or senior experience in a busy bar/hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of bar operations, beverages and service standards.
• Experience with events such as weddings and conferences is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation of all hotel bars and function bar areas.
• Maintain high standards of service, presentation and guest care.
• Supervise, motivate and support the bar team during service.
• Assist with training, coaching and developing colleagues.
• Help manage staffing levels, rotas and departmental productivity.
• Assist with stock management, ordering, stocktakes and cost controls.
• Support the delivery of weddings, conferences and hotel functions.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure successful event delivery.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, responsible alcohol service, HACCP and health and safety requirements.

Job description

The Hillgrove Hotel & Spa, Monaghan is looking for an experienced and passionate Assistant Bar Manager to support our bar operations and deliver exceptional service across the hotel.

Working closely with the Food & Beverage Manager, you will play an active role in the day-to‑day management of the hotel's bars and function bar operations, ensuring high standards of guest service, team performance and operational efficiency.

You will lead by example, support and develop your team and help deliver outstanding experiences across daily service, weddings, conferences and events.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of all hotel bars and function bar areas.
