Job summary

Mitie Ireland is seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Team in day-to-day financial activities. You will assist with month-end accounts preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure compliance with policies.

The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented and have strong analytical skills with a desire to develop their accounting career.

Qualifications

• Accounting qualification or degree required.
• Part-qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CPA desirable.
• 2–3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monthly management accounts preparation.
• Post journal entries accurately and timely.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support billing activities.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
• Assist with audits and ensure policy compliance.

Job Summary

The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance Team in the day-to-day management of the company's financial activities. The role involves assisting with month-end accounts preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a desire to further develop their accounting career

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support billing activities

Banking & Cash Management

• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting.

Compliance & Audit

• Support external and internal audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

About You:

Qualifications

• Accounting Technician qualification or degree qualified
• Part-qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA desirable but not essential

Experience

• 2-3 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.
• Familiarity with month-end processes.
• Experience using accounting software and ERP systems.

Skills
