Job summary

Mitie Ireland seeks a fully qualified Electrician to join its Data Centre facilities team in Dublin, responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing plant and electrical systems to ensure continuous site operations.

Required: 3–5 years of experience, strong knowledge of mechanical cooling/AC‑DX, and ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in MS Office and PPM systems is essential for effective reporting and planning.

Qualifications

• Previous Data Centre experience.
• Fully Qualified Electrician with 3 to 5 years' experience.
• Good working knowledge of mechanical cooling and AC-DX systems.
• HV/MV electrical switching experience an advantage but not necessary.
• Proven experience operating with static switchgear, UPS, Generators, CRAH & CRAC systems, Chillers, Dry coolers, Raised Access Flooring works, Fire protection and detection systems.
• Competent in MS Office.
• Experience in computer PPM maintenance systems.
• Ability to work in a pressurised environment with a flexible approach to duties assigned.

Responsibilities

• Work, engage and contribute effectively as part of a 2 man 24/7/365 shift team.
• Safely and efficiently install, maintain and repair plant and equipment as required in the contract scope.
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and commissioning to plant and cooling equipment.
• Carry out Reactive Maintenance (RM) as required to ensure continuous site operations.
• Carry out audits, inspections and rounds & readings on site, taking remedial actions where necessary.
• Comply with and implement existing business operation procedures.
• Ensure health and safety guidelines and site procedures are followed.

Key responsibilities

• Work, engage and contribute effectively as part of a 2 man 24/7/365 shift team.
• Safely and efficiently, install, maintain and repair plant and equipment as required in the contract scope.
• Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and commissioning to plant and cooling equipment.
• Carry out Reactive Maintenance (RM) as required to ensure continuous site operations.
• Carry out audits, inspections and rounds & readings on site, taking remedial actions where necessary.
• Comply with and implement existing business operation procedures.
• Ensure helpdesk tasks are completed and closed within SLA using site technologies including PDA.
• Carry out diagnostic and fault finding to plant and equipment.
• Represent Property Department and work with DCM department on project works.
• Operate BMS & power monitoring systems as required.
• Carry out works and repairs on building fabric as required & ensure site clean area standards are maintained.
• Adhering to company health and safety guidelines2,
• Ensure all self-delivered and contractor works are completed in accordance with Task Specific, PTW, Method Statements & Risk Assessments.
• Supervise and work with sub-contractors leading small projects where required.
• Ensure full recording of works undertaken on site are completed and recorded on site management systems.
• Undertake any duties deemed relevant to ensure the continued operation of the 24/7 facility.
• Ensure all Health & Safety, SOP and EOP processes and procedures are operated to and maintained.
• Representing Mitie values and culture in a professional manner at all times.

About you
