Permanent TSB plc in Ireland offers the Professional Banking Practitioner Apprenticeship, delivered with the Institute of Banking (IOB). The programme combines paid work with academic study, helping you earn a recognised qualification while starting a career in banking.

Over three years you’ll work in Retail Banking while pursuing a BSc in Banking and Financial Services at UCD. In Year 1 you’ll complete the QFA designation, spend four days per week on the job and one day at UCD either in person

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 or over on/or before the 31 August 2027.
• Leaving Certificate with a minimum of two H5 grades (Higher Level) and a minimum of four O6/H7 grades in the remaining subjects.
• Subjects must include Mathematics, English, and Irish (unless an NUI exemption applies; in this case, the required grade must be achieved in another subject).
• Aged 23 or over may apply through the mature entry route.
• Legally entitled to work in the Republic of Ireland without restriction for the duration of the programme.
• You must be committed to completing the BSc in Banking and Financial Services while working with PTSB.
• You must be committed to achieving the Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) designation during Year 1 of the programme.
• Please note apprentices joining the programme must have access to a personal laptop, Chromebook, or other compatible device for the duration for the programme.

Responsabilités

• Work within Retail Banking while studying for a Bachelor of Science in Banking and Financial Services, accredited by UCD.
• Gain hands-on experience and develop knowledge in financial services, digital capability, communication and customer service.
• Progression into roles across banking, financial advice, operations and compliance.
