Job summary

Principle HR in Dublin is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design and build of agentic AI systems for production at enterprise scale. This hands-on role focuses on setting engineering standards and patterns for multiple teams working with LLMs and AI agents.

The 6-month hybrid contract offers a competitive annual salary up to €155,000, pro rata, paid weekly. You will collaborate with product managers and engineers to balance cost, latency and model choice while shaping the future of

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building production agentic or multi-agent systems with LLMs.
• Strong software engineering background, including APIs, distributed systems and test-driven development.
• Experience with RAG, retrieval, and context or memory design.
• Practical approach to AI evaluation, observability and LLMOps.
• Experience with tool calling and interoperability standards such as MCP and A2A.
• The credibility to influence engineers across several teams.

Responsibilities

• Designing agent workflows: orchestration, tool use, retries, recovery and termination
• Building evaluation frameworks so the team knows whether an agent actually works
• Balancing cost, latency and model choice in production
• Creating reusable skills, plugins and patterns that other teams can adopt
• Working with product managers, architects and engineers on where AI fits next

Senior AI Engineer - Agentic AI | 6-Month Contract | Dublin (Hybrid)

Most companies are still experimenting with AI agents. This team is putting them into production at enterprise scale, and they need someone to set the engineering standards for how it's done.

A global technology leader is looking for a senior, hands-on AI engineer to design and build agentic AI systems and define the patterns other teams will follow.
