Job summary

Sanderson in Galway is seeking an Architectural Design Manager to lead design activities within a modern methods of construction environment.

This on-site role requires NFQ Level 7+ in Architectural Technology, Civil or Structural Engineering, with 7+ years in Tier 1/2 construction or offsite design. You will guide internal and external design teams, manage budgets, and deliver high quality drawings and schedules.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in Architectural Technology, Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Tier 1/2 construction, modular/offsite environments.
  • Experience leading and managing design teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate internal and external design teams.
  • Ensure design outputs meet quality, compliance and project standards.
  • Manage and facilitate design and departmental meetings.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants and stakeholders to achieve design objectives.

Architectural Design Manager

My client is a leading offsite construction business delivering modular and panelised building solutions across Ireland. Due to continued growth, we need an experienced Design Manager to lead design activities within a modern methods of construction environment. This role offers the opportunity to influence projects from concept through delivery, ensuring high quality design solutions that meet client requirements, project objectives and programme deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate internal and external design teams.
  • Ensure design outputs meet quality, compliance and project standards.
  • Manage and facilitate design and departmental meetings.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants and project stakeholders to achieve design objectives.
  • Develop innovative and practical design solutions.
  • Allocate and review design work to ensure timely delivery.
  • Drive the production of high quality structural drawings and design packages.
  • Manage design budgets and monitor project expenditure.
  • Develop and maintain design delivery schedules.
  • Mentor, train and support team members, promoting high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate design concepts clearly to clients and project teams.
Candidate Profile
  • Degree qualification (NFQ Level 7 or higher) in Architectural Technology, Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Min 7 years' experience within Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction, modular construction, offsite construction or design consultancy environments.
  • Previous experience leading and managing design teams.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving capability and commercial awareness.
  • Experience managing budgets and multiple project priorities.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams.
