Job summary

Northern Trust in Ireland is seeking a Consulting professional to oversee day-to-day Accounts Receivable activities within the Fee Billing Team. You will mentor staff, ensure SOX compliance, and partner with internal teams to improve processes and deliver accurate billing.

The role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel and PeopleSoft experience, and a proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced financial services environment. Visa/permit constraints apply for work in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented, analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication; provide timely feedback to management.
• Good time management; able to multi-task and prioritize.
• Self-motivated in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment with flexible approach toward changing work methods.
• Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong mathematics; proficient with Excel.
• Intermediate MS Excel and other Microsoft applications; PeopleSoft a plus.
• Several years of related experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or Payroll in Financial Services.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Accounts Receivable for a Fee Billing Team.
• Provide oversight of training and cross-training of team members on AR activities.
• Act as first escalation point for risk and control related matters for the team.
• Serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to staff.
• Ensure effective processes are in place and SOX controls are followed.
• Maintain relationships with necessary groups to ensure process improvement goals.
• Organize workload, set priorities, monitor activities, ensure timely completion.
• Differentiate between important and urgent decisions and act quickly.
• Work with internal and external auditors to provide documentation.
• Document procedures and identify potential control gaps and inefficiencies.
• Support senior management's objectives and goals.
• Collaborate with business partners to ensure accurate deliverables and resolve billing issues.
• Participate in process improvement projects.
• Communicate and escalate issues to Fee Management/Leadership as required.
• Handle complex activities with significant financial, client, and internal impact.
• Maintain policies and procedures and best practices.
