Job summary

Activ8 Solar Energies is seeking an Apprentice Electrician to assist our Electricians in installing and commissioning domestic Solar PV systems. The role is based in Carrickmacross, Co.

Monaghan, and includes a full-time permanent position with a competitive salary, bonus, pension, healthcare and additional benefits. As an apprentice, you will train alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical experience while completing your electrical apprenticeship programme.

Qualifications

• Eligible for registration with SOLAS as an Electrical Apprentice.
• Keen interest in electrical work and technology.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and work well in a team.
• Physically capable of performing manual tasks and working at heights or in confined spaces.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
• Prior exposure to electrical or construction work would be advantageous (summer work or work experience)

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and commissioning of Solar PV systems according to safe electrical specifications and SEAI code of practice.
• Prepare cables for the solar PV panels power supply.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues in solar systems.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Provide technical assistance to customers regarding their solar PV systems.

The Opportunity

As an apprentice electrician you will work and train alongside experienced electricians, gaining practical experience while completing the electrical apprenticeship programme. You will assist with the installation, commissioning, repair and maintenance of solar PV systems on residential homes.
