Job summary

Activ8 Solar Energies is seeking an experienced Commercial & Industrial Electrician to join our Commercial team on full-time permanent basis. You will contribute to projects across ROI, focusing on delivery, commissioning and maintenance of commercial Solar PV installations.

Qualifications

• Commercial or industrial electrical project experience is essential.
• Experience in Solar PV, renewables or utilities is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Install cable containment systems and install, terminate and gland mains and control cables.
• Supervise and coordinate commercial rooftop and ground-mounted Solar PV installations.
• Perform site surveys and technical assessments for commercial solar projects.
• Commission and maintain commercial Solar PV systems to meet safety and quality standards.
• Manage subcontractors and on-site activities to deliver projects safely and on schedule.
• Engage with customers on-site and provide technical guidance throughout delivery.
• Complete installation, commissioning and maintenance documentation accurately.
• Maintain strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations and company policies.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Electrician to join our growing Commercial team and develop specialist skills within the rapidly expanding renewable energy sector. Working on projects across Ireland, you will play a key role in the delivery, commissioning and maintenance of commercial Solar PV installations

About The Role

Responsibilities include:

• Installation of cable containment systems.
• Installation, termination and glanding of mains and control cables.
• Supervision and coordination of commercial rooftop and ground-mounted Solar PV installations.
• Carrying out site surveys and technical assessments for prospective commercial solar projects.
• Commissioning of commercial Solar PV systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Performing scheduled maintenance, fault finding and troubleshooting on Solar PV systems.
• Managing subcontractors and site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
• Engaging with customers on-site, providing technical guidance and updates throughout project delivery.
• Completing installation, commissioning and maintenance documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Maintaining strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations, company policies and industry best practice.

Qualifications/Key Skills

• Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification and/or relevant industry experience.
• Commercial or industrial electrical project experience is essential. Experience within Solar PV, renewable energy, utilities or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
• Strong technical knowledge and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for delivering projects safely and on schedule.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, subcontractors and colleagues.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.
• Full clean driving licence.
