Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a Shift Engineer to join the onsite Dublin Airport team, maintaining advanced security screening systems with a 2 days/2 nights/4 days off continental shift pattern. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot and continually improve critical airport equipment while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience with security screening, automation, industrial equipment, or similar technologies.
• Knowledge of service management systems.
• Experience within airport, transportation, manufacturing, or highly regulated environments.
• HNC/HND, apprenticeship, military engineering background, or equivalent technical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and repair on security screening equipment.
• Respond to faults and service calls with diagnostics and corrective actions.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers and product specialists.
• Maintain service records and technical documentation.
• Support spare parts management including ordering, tracking and returns.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify operational improvements.
• Participate in installations, upgrades, site surveys and project activities.
• Provide technical support to customers and colleagues with excellent service.
• Ensure all work complies with health, safety and environmental policies.
• Complete ongoing training to develop product knowledge.
