Job summary

ElevenLabs in Dublin is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and scale production safety systems for our AI platforms. You will own end-to-end backend ownership, build robust APIs, and work with distributed cloud-based services.

The role requires Python expertise, experience with modern frameworks, and a passion for designing scalable safety infrastructure across multiple products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building production systems.
• Strong backend engineering experience including designing APIs, working with databases, and building scalable services.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with modern backend frameworks.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed systems and cloud-based applications.
• Comfortable owning systems end to end, from design to deployment and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale automated safety systems for ElevenLabs’ products.
• Collaborate with Investigations to identify evolving abuse patterns and improve detection & guardrails.
• Own production infrastructure, architecture, deployment, reliability, monitoring, and operation.
• Deploy and integrate ML models into production safety systems with engineers.
• Develop backend services, APIs, internal tools, and user interfaces for safety operations.
• Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Safety Policy to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Help shape architectural direction and safety infrastructure evolution.
