Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a Trade Compliance lead to design and run its European program. You will coordinate with Legal, Tax and Finance to ensure cross-border shipments meet EU regulations while improving cost and speed.

You will build processes, leverage AI for analysis, and scale operations across Europe. You will manage relationships with customs authorities, oversee documentation, audits and ongoing controls, and drive measurable improvements in accuracy and processing time across the supply

Qualifications

• Deep European customs expertise including EU customs law and importer/exporter responsibilities.
• Experience building trade programs from ground up balancing compliance, cost, speed and operating needs.
• Direct experience managing hardware imports and bonded warehouse compliance across multiple European countries.

Responsibilities

• Design compliant trading and supply-chain structures with Legal, direct and indirect tax teams.
• Build the European trade compliance program and launch cross-border shipping routes.
• Own European import, export and returns operations, including customs warehousing where needed.
