Job summary

xAI is seeking an experienced Regulatory Legal Counsel for EMEA to advise on platform, AI and digital regulation shaping how products are built and operated across Europe, the UK, the Middle East and Africa. You will translate complex obligations into practical implementation plans and work with Safety, Product, Engineering and Policy teams to ensure compliance.

The role involves regulatory engagement with bodies like the European Commission, EU AI Office, Ofcom and national regulators, plus

Qualifications

Strong understanding of the legislative process and the technology industry.
5+ years of legal experience in technology, platform or digital regulation.
Experience with the EU AI Act, AVMSD or Ireland’s Online Safety Code.
Experience responding to regulatory requests for information or investigations from the European Commission, Ofcom or Coimisiún na Meán.

Responsibilities

Advise on platform, AI and digital regulation for X, Grok and SpaceXSI products across Europe, the UK, the Middle East and Africa.
Turn complex obligations into practical advice and implementation plans with cross-functional teams.
Engage with regulators and manage regulatory investigations and information requests.
Work with Safety, Product, Engineering and Compliance to assess regulatory requirements for new features and AI products.
Help build scalable regulatory compliance processes, playbooks and templates.
