OpenAI seeks a trade compliance leader to build and run its European program. You will design compliant trading structures, launch cross-border shipping routes, and manage import/export operations while collaborating with Legal, Tax, and Finance.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted analysis and strong execution to support growth across Europe. You will ensure ongoing compliance, adapt to rule changes, and maintain documentation for audits, reporting risks to leadership.

Qualifications

• Deep European customs expertise including EU rules and importer/exporter responsibilities.
• Experience building trade programs from the ground up with legal and tax partners.
• Direct experience managing hardware imports and bonded warehouse compliance across multiple countries.

Responsibilities

• Design compliant trading and supply-chain structures with internal teams.
• Launch cross-border shipping routes and implement customs and export controls processes.
• Manage ongoing import/export operations and broker relationships as volume grows.
• Set and test compliance policies, maintain authorizations, and prepare for audits.
