Job summary

Lever, Inc. seeks a Product Engineer (AI-Native) in Ireland to own features end-to-end, from problem statement to production, leveraging AI agents as primary development partners.

You will work with external providers, define integration requirements, and ensure high reliability for financial systems. You’ll shape AI-first engineering processes, review AI-generated code, and collaborate within a distributed international team to evolve how modern product development is executed with capable AI

Qualifications

• Senior-level engineering experience owning complex production systems end-to-end.
• Background as a backend engineer or software architect with deep technical ownership.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) as part of daily development workflow.
• Strong interest in agentic software development and continuous learning of new tools and workflows.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to drive work to measurable results without detailed specs.
• Strong critical-thinking skills to inspect and improve AI-generated code and solutions.
• High standards for engineering quality, reliability, testing, and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Own product features end-to-end from problem statement to production.
• Identify what needs to be built and drive initiatives with minimal instructions.
• Engage with external partners and service providers for integration requirements.
• Collaborate with AI agents to create product and technical specifications with ownership over quality.
• Review AI-generated outputs and ensure reliability in production codebase.
• Evaluate AI implementations, identify weaknesses, and select best solutions.
• Ensure features are tested, reliable, and production-ready across systems handling financial transactions.
• Contribute to AI-first development processes and continuously evolve engineering practices.
• Work with a distributed international team to shape AI-native software development lifecycle.
