Job summary

AstraZeneca operates a Dublin biologics drug substance manufacturing facility and seeks an Associate Director of Manufacturing Operations to provide technical leadership across cGMP drug substance and warehouse operations. You will partner with EHS, QA, QC, Engineering, and Technical Services to improve schedule adherence and implement AI-driven improvements.

You will coach leaders, prepare for inspections, and drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, quality and reliable patient

Qualifications

Minimum 12 years pharma experience overseeing Drug Substance operations, quality, or technical services.
Proven TRT in leading Lean, digital or AI-enabled transformation in regulated manufacturing.
Strong coaching, mentoring and leadership development capabilities.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end manufacturing and warehouse operations to ensure schedule adherence and 24/7 productivity.
Embed right-first-time culture and ensure compliance with cGMP and health authority requirements on the floor and in warehouse.
Coach and develop leaders and teams; drive CAPA and root-cause analysis, trend issues and preventive actions.
Drive readiness for new builds, systems and product introductions; ensure smooth scale-up and integration into operations.
Represent Operations with internal and external stakeholders; prepare for inspections and regulatory readiness.
Champion continuous improvement with Lean, digital, and AI-enabled solutions to improve safety, quality, and flow.
