Job summary

Clarity Locums are recruiting Registered General Nurses (RGNs) for community-based agency work in Kilkenny. You’ll enjoy flexible shifts, competitive rates (€35 per hour, €70 on weekends and bank holidays), paid annual leave, a free uniform, and ongoing support from an allocated consultant through a user-friendly platform.

Duties include patient assessments at home, clinical observations, medication administration, and liaison with GPs and community teams.

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care within a community setting.
• Assessing and monitoring patients in their homes and community settings across Kilkenny.
• Carrying out clinical observations and monitoring patients’ conditions.
• Recognising and responding to changes in patients’ clinical presentation.
• Administering medications and treatments safely and effectively.
• Supporting patients with ongoing healthcare needs and care plans.
• Liaising with GPs, community healthcare teams and other professionals.
• Maintaining accurate nursing documentation.

Duties

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in General Nursing and Active Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)


• Minimum 6 months post-registration nursing experience


• Previous Community Nursing experience is desirable


• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills


• Experience recognising and responding to changes in patients’ clinical condition
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently and effectively in a community setting


• Full driving licence and access to your own transport is desirable
