Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a Community Education/Before/After School Assistant to support the school site leader and supervise children in the before and after school program as well as during school breaks.

The 20-hour per week position runs 2:30 pm–6:30 pm, 9 months, and is classified as hourly. A High School Diploma or equivalent, background clearance, and CPR/First Aid are required; experience with children is highly valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a teacher/caregiver aide for 12 months; OR volunteer in a childcare facility for 12 months or enrollment in a vocational training program.
• Must pass a background clearance.
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Excellent attendance record.
• CPR/First Aid certified.
• Enjoys working with children.

Responsibilities

• Support QCUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
• Monitors and assists children to ensure safety in the before/after care setting and programs.
• Maintains an environment in accordance with licensing requirements.
• Team player with the ability to work well with peers.
• Able to work with children from a variety of ages while maintaining confidentiality.
• Sets up rooms for activities and cleans up after activities.
• Learns assigned plans and is prepared before children arrive.
• Operates program equipment as required.
• Attends staff meetings and training as directed by licensing and district.
• Interacts positively with parents/guardians.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support district priorities.
