Job summary

Panda Ireland is seeking an organized Accounts Payable Assistant to support accurate and timely supplier invoice processing and payments.

You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries, reconcile accounts and maintain precise financial records in a fast-paced environment. This role requires experience in accounts payable, proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

  • At least one year’s experience within accounts payable or a similar finance role.
  • Good understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles.
  • Experience using an ERP system or accounting software.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Able to communicate confidently with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Experience with accounts payable automation or electronic payment platforms would be beneficial.
  • A degree in accounting, finance or related subject would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify and process supplier invoices accurately and in line with approval procedures.
  • Match invoices against purchase orders and investigate discrepancies.
  • Enter invoice information into the accounting system for payment.
  • Respond to payment and account queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Support month-end and year-end accounts payable reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain aged creditors reports and payment summaries.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, receiving and operations to resolve disputes.
  • Maintain records of invoices, payments and supplier correspondence.
  • Assist audits by providing required documentation.
  • Follow financial controls and tax requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes.
  • Utilise automation and electronic payment tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.

The Role

We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Accounts Payable Assistant to support the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices and payments.

Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you will help resolve invoice queries, reconcile accounts and maintain accurate financial records. This is a busy role suited to someone with accounts payable experience who is confident working with financial systems, spreadsheets and high volumes of information.

What You’ll Be Doing

What We’re Looking For
You will ideally have:
  • At least one year’s experience within accounts payable or a similar finance role.
  • A good understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles.
  • Experience using an ERP system or accounting software.
