Job summary

Eden Recruitment is recruiting an Accountant for an 11 month contract in Ireland. The role covers month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvements. You will work with large data sets using Excel/Google Sheets and ensure accuracy under tight deadlines.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and have 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with US GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with financial reporting support, including variance analysis and flux explanations
• Maintain documentation to support accounting conclusions, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Support process improvement efforts (e.g., standardizing templates, enhancing close checklists, improving reconciliation quality)
• Partner with internal stakeholders to collect required inputs and resolve open items within agreed timelines
• Perform other accounting support tasks as assigned that are consistent with the temporary nature of the engagement
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience (e.g., corporate accounting, public accounting, or a combination)
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and standard close processes (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis)
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with large data sets
• Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate status clearly
