Queally Group's Glenpatrick Spring Water at Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, seeks an Accountant to join the operations-focused finance team.

You will work closely with production, ESG, engineering and quality departments to provide accurate monthly management accounts and robust financial control. You will lead and develop the accounting function, manage intercompany recharges, budgeting, stock reconciliations and regulatory returns, while driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with Food

  • Qualified accountant with 1–2 years in industry.

  • Strong IT skills; advanced Excel; Insight is a plus.
  • Interest in manufacturing sector and operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative but able to work independently.
  • RPL may be considered based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts to the highest standards on time, ensuring accuracy and supporting details.
  • Prepare and review weekly production pack plus variance analysis for management.
  • Review standard costing versus actual costings for all products.
  • Communicate and post intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany accounts.
  • Prepare and submit all regulatory, tax and statistical returns on a timely basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Stock control and stock reconciliations for multiple locations.
  • Assist in stock management system IT developments and enhancements.
  • Liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Support SLT and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Improve and standardise processes; support grants and R&D claims.
  • Ensure compliance with Food Quality and Safety systems.

About Glenpatrick Spring Water, Clonmel, Co Tipperary

Glenpatrick Spring Water is part of the private family-owned Arrow/Queally Agri-Food Group. The Company is Ireland's largest bottled water company and also a major player in the wider soft drinks and Nutritional Drinks sector.

Glenpatrick supplies all of the main Retailers in Ireland and some of the largest players in the UK Retail sector in addition to B2B relationships with large Food Brands.

We are seeking an Accountant that will connect closely with our Operations team. This role will allow the candidate to get proper exposure at factory level to Operations to include production, Innovation, ESG, engineering and Quality Departments.

We are looking for a dynamic Accountant that wishes to learn in a manufacturing environment and engage across the factories and to develop a management and leadership skillset.

Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts to the highest standards on time, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting details are in place
  • Prepare and review the weekly production pack plus variance analysis for management purposes
  • Reviewing standard costing versus actual costings for all products
  • Communicate and post intercompany recharges and reconcile intercompany accounts
  • Prepare and submit all regulatory, tax and statistical returns on a timely basis
  • Liaise and assist Finance Manager in the preparation of annual Budgets
  • Stock control and stock reconciliations for multiple stock locations.
  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance and control of the stock management system and IT system developments
  • Liaise with external auditors as required
  • Liaising and co-operate with the SLT
  • Ensure a strong financial control environment exists at all times
  • Review, improve, automate and implement standardised processes on a continuous rolling basis
  • Assisting in the preparation of Grants and R&D TC claims
  • Be point of contact for escalation of more complex AP/AR issues
  • Contribute to wider Finance Team initiatives as required
  • Take positive action to maintain compliance to the Food Quality and Safety system and to drive improvements in food safety culture
  • Professional development is encouraged to support career growth and progression
  • Ad hoc reporting as required
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
  • ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA qualified accountant with 1-2 years' industry experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to oversee, develop and motivate an accounting administration team, leading by example with professionalism and fostering a positive working environment
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Insight would be a distinct advantage
  • A genuine interest in the manufacturing sector, with a desire to develop a strong understanding of the business and its operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage directly with Operations and Supply Chain, both in person and over the phone
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to produce accurate, high-quality financial data and exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly ambitious, proactive and committed to continuous learning and development within the role and the company
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently and use their own initiative
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be considered, based on relevant experience, training, or voluntary work
