Iron Bird Logistic (Bluebirdgroup) is seeking a Vendor Management Specialist to plan and optimize transportation vendor activities. You will identify and onboard trucking partners, build strong relationships, monitor performance, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least 2 years in vendor management or logistics, strong negotiation and Excel skills, and willingness to travel for vendor visits as needed.
Execute transportation vendor planning based on business demand, operational requirements, and capacity needs.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new transportation vendors to support business and operational requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with trucking vendors and business partners to ensure reliable and efficient transportation services.
Monitor vendor performance, including service quality, on-time delivery, compliance, and responsiveness to operational needs.
Coordinate with internal operational teams to ensure vendor availability and the smooth execution of transportation activities.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and service agreements to achieve cost efficiency while maintaining service excellence.
Ensure all vendor documentation, contracts, and legal requirements are complete, valid, and up to date.
Conduct regular vendor evaluations and recommend improvement initiatives to enhance vendor performance and operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in Vendor Management, Procurement, Transportation, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, or Supply Chain.
3. Experience in managing trucking vendors and transportation partners is highly preferred.
4. Strong understanding of trucking operations, freight forwarding processes, and supply chain activities.
5. Familiarity with vendor evaluation, contract administration, pricing negotiation, and vendor performance management.
6. Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
9. Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
10. Willing to travel for vendor visits and operational monitoring when required.
