Job summary

Apical Group is seeking a Utility Supervisor – Boiler (CFB) for its Marunda, Jakarta facility. You will oversee daily CFB boiler operations, ensure reliable steam supply, monitor efficiency and fuel consumption, and lead a team of boiler operators.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering and at least 5 years in utility operations with CFB boiler experience. You will ensure boiler safety, PSM, and environmental compliance while optimizing performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in utility operations, preferably coal-fired boilers.
• Hands-on experience with Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boilers.
• Strong boiler efficiency, coal calorific value, and combustion control knowledge.
• Familiarity with safety standards and preventive maintenance.

Job description

We are looking for a Utility Supervisor – Boiler (CFB) to be based at Apical Group’s manufacturing facility in Marunda, Jakarta.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily CFB boiler operations to ensure reliable steam supply and compliance with SOPs and operating parameters.
• Monitor boiler efficiency, coal consumption, steam output, and combustion parameters to optimize fuel utilization and reduce operational costs.
• Ensure boiler feedwater quality, chemical dosing, and blowdown operations meet required specifications.
• Oversee routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective actions to maintain equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, boiler safety standards, and environmental regulations, including emission control.
• Supervise boiler operators, coordinate shift activities, and ensure proper shift handovers and personnel competency.
• Prepare operational reports, analyze performance deviations, monitor KPIs, and recommend continuous improvement actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in utility operations, preferably managing coal-fired boilers in a manufacturing or process industry.
• Hands-on experience with Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) boilers is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of boiler efficiency calculations, coal calorific value, combustion control, and fuel optimization.
• Knowledge of steam distribution, pressure control, condensate recovery, and steam loss reduction.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and team leadership skills.
• Familiarity with boiler safety standards, environmental regulations, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Willing to be based in Marunda, Jakarta.
