Job summary

PT KLK Dumai is seeking a seasoned Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to oversee safe operation and maintenance of all utilities, including boilers, steam distribution, turbines, compressors, cooling towers, and water treatment systems at the Dumai plant.

You will plan, supervise, and train utility staff, coordinate with suppliers, drive preventive and predictive maintenance, and lead CAPEX projects while ensuring safety and SSHE compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years in steam boiler and steam turbine operation and maintenance in petrochemical or oleo chemical industries.
• Experience in SAP system is preferred.
• Experience in planning, scheduling and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance and troubleshooting of pumps, air compressors, boilers, turbines, biomass conveyor systems, cooling towers, etc.
• Knowledge in NDE / predictive maintenance / operation, vibration analysis and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute all maintenance activities for utilities including boilers, steam distribution, turbines, air compressors, cooling towers and water treatment systems.
• Train boilerman/engine drivers and utility staff for safe and efficient operation.
• Lead plant modifications and CAPEX projects within budget and ensure timely, cost-effective completion.

Job description

To plan and execute all activities related to Safe Operation and effective maintenance of all Utilities covering Boilers & steam distribution systems, steam turbine, Air compressors, Cooling Towers, Water supply & treatment plants, Gas supply systems, etc.,

To improve and maximize utility equipment performance and reliability with knowledges and resourced provided.

To continuously train the boilerman/ engine drivers & other utility members for safe & efficient operation

Having overall responsibility for the whole utility equipment on operation and reliability.

Having the sense of urgency and initiative to make sure all utility equipment at the maximum reliable condition.

Plan, manage and control all aspects of engineering in order to meet operational goals and

departmental quality objectives.

Able to train and guide subordinate on analyzing utility equipment related problems and conduct

feasibility study and troubleshooting to decide upon action to be taken.

Maintain all utility equipment to ensure maximum productivity, response to breakdown immediately.

Keep track of overall utility issues, root cause and corrective actions and ensure minimum

downtime.

Advice the procurement of spare parts and materials, liaise with suppliers /contractors for any new engineering development, part fabrication and technical matters.

Ensure all safety measures are being adhered to in all activities. To strictly follow the SSHE Rules and Regulation as stated in the Company’s Policy.

Optimize manpower utilization by planning all the jobs that needs to be done by the boilerman;

contractors and relevant personnel from another section/department.

Continuously monitor and control the assigned job and to ensure that the job is completed within specified time and standard.

To assist engineering Manager / chief engineer upon request.

Develop and implement plant modifications and capex project works within budget, timely completion with minimum cost and safe.

Prepare tender document, tender bid evaluation, make recommendation for award, order of materials and equipment for the implementation of plant modifications and capex project work.

Assist in the training of new engineering/ utility personnel.

Perform any other duties as assigned by superior from time to time.

To conduct walkabout to identify area for improvement (KAIZEN), ease of maintenance, reduce cost, improve performance and safety at work.

Job requirement:
