Job summary

Bureau Veritas is seeking an Umbilical & Flexible Engineer (EXPAT) to lead subsea umbilical and flowline design, installation, and verification offshore. The role demands a strong track record in subsea engineering, leadership in yard or offshore settings, and experience with design codes, contractor design reviews, and FE analysis.

Based in Indonesia, you will deliver technical deliverables to clients, support brownfield projects, and contribute to project success in a dynamic offshore

Qualifications

• 10+ years of working experience in production facility (subsea) environments with a strong background in umbilical and/or flexible flowline engineering, construction, and installation.
• Experience in offshore yard or offshore settings with leadership capabilities.
• Experience with design methodologies, offshore construction and installation activities, and relevant codes.
• Experience providing technical assurance for design and operational aspects of offshore brownfield projects.
• Experience appraising CONTRACTORs' designs for compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
• Experience in preparing and presenting technical deliverables such as calculations, reports, and presentations to clients at a senior level.
• Experience with engineering fundamentals and structural engineering analysis.
• Experience with offshore design challenges related to umbilical and flexible flowline installation, piping, stability, and installation analysis.
• Experience in finite element analysis using Orcaflex, Abaqus, and Ansys.

• a) Honours degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Subsea Engineering from a university, with a solid grounding in structural engineering theory and techniques.
• b) Minimum 10 years of working experience in production facility (subsea) environments with a strong background in umbilical and/or flexible flowline engineering, construction, and installation.
• c) Prior experience in a similar role with proven leadership capabilities in yard or offshore settings.
• d) Experience with Hands-on design experience, including work for or with a major Operator.
• e) Extensive experience with design methodologies, offshore construction and installation activities, and associated analysis.
• f) Experience providing technical assurance for design and operational aspects of offshore brownfield projects.
• g) Experience with appraising CONTRACTORs' designs for compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
• h) Experience in prepare and present technical deliverables such as calculations, reports, and presentations to clients at a senior level.
• i) Experience with engineering fundamentals and structural engineering analysis.
