Job summary

Flex in Batam, Indonesia, seeks a Tooling Manager to oversee tooling requisitions from prototype to mass production and to lead mold maintenance and improvements.

You will drive process development, tooling optimization, and cost reduction while ensuring quality, safety, and training for the tool room team. The position requires deep tooling/mold design expertise and strong leadership across engineering and shop floor teams.

Qualifications

• 10 years of tooling or mold design experience.
• Expert functional, technical and people/process management skills.
• Strong customer relationship abilities (internal/external).

Responsibilities

• Management of new tooling requisitions from prototype through mass production.
• Improvements, major repairs, and Engineering Change Notices to molds.
• Implementation of preventive maintenance for production molds.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and tooling methods.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing tooling and process.
• Quality and safety improvements in training for tool room team.
• Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Tooling Manager located in Batam, Indonesia.

What a typical day looks like:

Management of new tooling requisitions from prototype or complex designs through mass production.

Responsible for improvements, major repairs, and Engineering Change Notice to the molds.

Implementation of preventive maintenance for production molds.

Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements including but not limited to researching, designing, modifying, testing manufacturing methods and equipment.

Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing tooling and process.

Implementation of quality and safety improvements in training for tool room team.

Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

Typically requires 10 years on tooling or mold design activities.

Demonstrates expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.

Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.
